Sports, music, art, child activities
Sports
Talibé children love sports, especially soccer, a true passion that allows them to escape, surpass themselves, and create strong bonds with their friends. Maison de la Gare's sports program provides these children with a healthy outlet for physical activity and a rare opportunity to play and have fun as children.
Impromptu soccer matches at our center become moments of pure joy, a welcome respite from the harshness of the children's daily lives. These moments are much more than just games, they embody a breath of freedom and of rediscovered childhood. Our volunteers facilitate these unofficial matches. They also help organize matches between daaras at local soccer fields, providing a wonderful outlet for hundreds of talibés.
For a volunteer with some experience in karate or other martial arts, there is a unique opportunity to contribute to this area. Around fifty talibé children regularly practice karate, from beginner to orange belt level. This sport is magical for them, as it gives them self-confidence and allows them to feel equal to other members of the community.
Through these sporting activities, Maison de la Gare works for a comprehensive approach to the well-being of talibé children. Sport is a powerful tool for education, social reintegration, and inner healing. It allows children to rebuild their lives, dream and, above all, believe in themselves again. Offering these young people the opportunity to play, surpass themselves, and feel valued is giving them back a part of their childhood that is often stolen. It opens the doors to a brighter future. As a volunteer in this activity, you can make a valuable contribution.
