Global mission

Many volunteers arrive with a strong desire to help, but without specific skills or interests. Others have business or other skills but want to contribute in other areas as well. This is always possible. All volunteers spend their first few days familiarizing themselves with our center, the children, our staff, and our programs. They then move on to the activities where they feel they can make the greatest contribution.

For example, several recent volunteers with business experience spent half their time working in the microfinance program, but the rest of the time in different areas… teaching, leading games and other activities, and helping in the infirmary.

Regardless of their program, all volunteers contribute where they see a need, for example, preparing and distributing food to children daily, or brushing teeth, or simply interacting with children in the playground.

Requirements

– Good experience working with children.

– Ability to listen attentively and work respectfully with children.

– Being ready to provide assistance when and where it is needed.
