Quentin Joly (France)

Literacy Program

Maison de la Gare was pleased to welcome Quentin Joly as a volunteer for four weeks. With dynamism, kindness, and a deep sense of service, he fully invested himself in the life of the center, providing support on educational, sporting, medical, and logistical levels.

Every morning, Quentin led math, reading, writing, English, and conjugation classes with seriousness and enthusiasm, carefully adapting to the talibé children's varied levels. His rigorous teaching methods, combined with a humane and respectful approach, fostered a climate of trust conducive to learning.

Outside of the classroom, Quentin was just as involved. He channeled the children's boundless energy through a variety of sports activities—football, beret games, and pétanque—providing moments of fulfillment, joy, and team building.

Always ready to help, he also provided valuable assistance to the infirmary by assisting the team in caring for injured children, showing great sensitivity and real attention to their well-being.

Quentin also didn't hesitate to lend a hand in the construction of a new administrative building. Whether it was mixing cement or ensuring the finishing touches, he actively contributed to this collective mission with determination and solidarity.

Over the days, Quentin forged deep bonds with the children and the entire team. Present, attentive, and always ready to help, he made an impression with his skills and his humanity.

Maison de la Gare extends its sincere thanks to him for his remarkable commitment, versatility, and team spirit throughout his stay. His time there will remain etched in the hearts of the children and in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to work alongside him.
