Joining Maison de la Gare as a volunteer in Senegal means discovering the wonders of this unique country. And it's about contributing to a cause that improves people's lives.

Our volunteers arrive motivated to touch the lives of others. However, they discover that what they receive is as great, if not greater, than what they give. Senegal and its people will leave lasting impressions on your heart. You will participate in community life, improve your French or perhaps learn one of the local languages, and immerse yourself in the colorful and charming culture of West Africa.

As a volunteer in Senegal at Maison de la Gare, you will have an enriching cultural and educational experience. You will dedicate your time and skills to supporting the children and community members we serve.

You will have the opportunity to live with a host family. We encourage this for those who want to fully experience Senegalese culture and life. We can also help you find accommodation in a auberge or in one of the excellent tourist hotels.

Volunteers can be aged 18 to 80 or older. Applications from 16- and 17-year-olds may be considered if accompanied by an adult or as part of a group. A certain level of French proficiency is recommended but not required, except for microfinance, which requires at least an intermediate level of French.
